Seasons, plants and the environment are changing

As we move into cooler Autumn weather a shift is seen in our plants and garden. Everything is slowing down and getting ready to store energy over the Winter to be used in Spring. In Garden classes we discussed what conditions a seed or plant might need to grow and flourish. We looked at different soil types and their relationship with water and how this affects plant root growth. Some of the important factors for a plant growth students discussed were sun, water, soil, attention, light, position and protection.

These thoughts have been visibly transferred to the students’ Plant Projects and how they have cared for them over Term 1. As they grow we are observing more characteristics and clues to help guess our mystery plants! Here are a few photos to enjoy!
